You can also purchase two different types of mugs featuring Konekomimi on the CafePress.com website! You'll also notice I've added a mirror site on comicgenesis.com! http://thelibrary.comicgenesis.com, as well as a myspace link at the bottom of the pandaking website (a somewhat temporary location), it will soon find a permanent home in the gallery links section.

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009 / 7:20pm - 12 days, 8-14 hours per day, and I finally converted the largest writing project I've ever attempted into web format.

Btw, there is also a contest associated with the writing project! Just visit this website for more information: http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/17410.The_Library
AND THAT'S NOT ALL! I've also got a mousepad for sale on my cafepress.com website (store links) featuring my linework and Mary Mak's coloring entitled "Konekomimi's Fields" (C)2008-2009 Kevin Conner. It's the cover picture for "Journey to Tokushi". The sides are a little clipped to give a near full fill of the pad. Keep watching the spot as I plan on having Mary Mak's wonderful coloring on my linework available for sale through Deviant Art in print form.

Friday, April 10, 2009 / 7:17am - Attention everyone! Sorry for the delay in updates, one is coming up real soon. In the next few days my ComicGenesis.com mirror site will be up and running :D There will be a special eStory premiering on the comicgenesis.com site next week. A standard "The Library" update will be forthcoming within the next two weeks as soon as the edits are all completed (although I expect some grammatical errors to slip through the cracks). See you then!

Monday, March 02, 2009 / 9:38pm - Chrur is now available for reading! New PandaKing page expected in the next week or two. Pandaking is now shifting to once a month so that I can load a mirror site on comicgenesis.com.

Sunday, February 01, 2009 / 8:07pm -

GENTLEMEN, BEHOLD!
The Library is now open! PandaKing is no longer but a webmanga, it is part of an entire world! Visit the library and read the story which is currently up to have a piece of understanding concerning the world in which Panda lives! More stories will come, and so will PandaKing pages! Because of their connection, all but one form of Google advertisements featured on PandaKing will also be advertised through all pages of any Panada classified novel.
BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! I still haven't finished what was originally going to be a minor project for solstice! You'll see soon enough once it's finally completed! Give me about 4 weeks.

PS: I've also got some new store items available, including a printed copy of Kevin Conner's Strange Tales triplet vol. 1 through CreateSpace.com or Amazon.com :D

Saturday, December 27th, 2008 / 10:03pm - Hi, everybody! So To explain something to my loyal readers concerning Panda King
"Out with it already, Kevin, we h8 you! You suxors!"
Pls no name calling it hurt feelins :(
"Ok we no call names, now out with it!"
Ok, here's the story - Unlike you or your dad, or your mom, this corporation is my job. My job consists of the following in this set of priorities:
  • Preparing and negotiating my patented board game - Tora.
  • My self-publishing venture/writing
  • PandaKing is on the bottom of the list.
Now, I love PandaKing, and I will see it through. However, there may be instances where due to items such as House Construction (as happened in the kitchen this Nov/Dec), exciting things with my board game, or possible self publishing opportunities, I won't be able to concentrate on my webmanga.
"OMG! Why not!? You don't have a real job!"
Well, this is my real job. I didn't plug five digits into my books and patents for nothing. The unfortunate thing is, I have nobody who can "help me" in major ways. I have my mom (sometimes), but most of it is all me. No employees.
"So, what? No PandaKing?"
OMG who said that!? I LOVE PANDAKING :D I love drawing it, despite my low art abilities, and my distinctly un-satisfyingly long time it takes me to draw. My problem is, I just have to do everything on my own. It's very difficult, especially with no immediate returns.
"Oh, sorry."
It's ok. I just hope I don't lose you all as readers. My main thing right now, is I've more or less decided that I should take advantage of the createspace.com offer. Which means I can produce a pay to order book through them and Amazon. In all the money I've spent trying to get published, this is probably the best way to meet new readers. It may also grant me some sort of deal for my sci-fi and superhero novel series!
"You have what now!? A SERIES!?"
I told you I write for a living (well, for a debt anyway). Yes, I have a sci-fi novel series, and a superhero series I've written. They're both novels, not comics. But, for now, I'm doing a collection of my short stories through createspace.com. By Jan, 3rd or 4th, you should see a link to my book on the createspace or amazon.com listing. Whichever it turns out to be.
"What about this mysterious surprise you promised us a few weeks ago?"
I was originally going to publish that for you all, but, unfortunately, I was unable to complete it. I know I won't be able to complete it before the 31st, and that's when the creatspace.com deadline runs out for free premium service. However, your special surprise will be done soon after, and it will be available for purchase either through createspace.com, amazon.com OR cafepress.com. I will try to get the best monetary deal going for you that I can.
I hope this news has been informative, and you all understand this isn't like other "web comic hiatus'". The script for PandaKing is finished UP THROUGH Chapter 4. As I said before there are 13 chapters. I will be doing the comic.
"To make it easier why not hire a web artist?"
They like to charge me upfront, so far I haven't made a dime. Yeah, it sucks, but :sigh: that's the world we live in. Starving Artists need food too! So, PandaKing is part of my work schedule, but sometimes I just have to put it on hold. Maybe, I might get lucky, then I can afford things such as artists! or Employees! or Videogames! But as it is, I can't. So, unfortunately I must ask for your patience, and view all the things on which I am working. Thank you for your time!

Wednesday, December 24th, 2008 / 7:37/38pm - Hi, guys! I've uploaded A Blank Page for you all! I've also stuck it on my cafepress.com website! Just in case you want to order the poster versions. We've got an 11 x 17 version and a 16 x 20 version (the one seen on the front page). Sorry for the watermark, but I had to add it. I've written a lot of things in my spare time, and my blank page was one of the more amusing little pieces. You'll notice it makes reference to two pages, well that's because it was originally on two pages. But, for poster purposes, I have to use a single page. pls 4give. Anyway, I am also finishing up on the surprise I originally planned for you, but it seems that it may take me up until the 12th day of Christmas (which, in retrospect, would actually make it on time!). Until then, Happy Holidays!

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008 / 6:21pm - Hi, guys! Gonna get page 6 to you by next Monday, as promised. Things are a little busy, but if you take a look at the cafepress.com website, you'll see some new shirts! They feature the character I was going to use before I settled on Panda. I'm currently trying to find someone who will ink a picture for me, so I can get started right away on Konekomimi's choose your destiny book! I hope that you enjoy the current designs, and keep a look out for future designs! If you have problems or wish to contact me with some suggestions, please do so!

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008 / 7:57am - Page 6 might be delayed, or it might not. I have no idea if I'll be able to work on it on my trip. I hope I will. In the mean time, there's a vote that's coming up. Here's the vote information. You can either post your choice to the messageboard at the listed location or send me an email.
VOTE! HI guys :D
I'm gonna put a choose your own adventure type of story on my pandaking website.
Basically I want to use one of my many Role Play Characters, but I'm not sure which one.
So here's a list of my chars - all of which are set in the same universe. Multiple Votes are allowed. Vote canceling (and revoting) is allowed. Please click on the ones which interest you and if you have any questions bring them up:
* Abi - she's an "undead" paladin. But she's not undead in the traditional sense. It's more of a biological condition caused by a failed spell cast from a necromancer to create an army of evil people. Unfortunately it turned the unsuspecting populace into "undead" in that they stop aging at around 30, they are weak against "holy spells", and they can use meat (cooked or raw) to "heal" wounds. The condition tends to go away with time, but they can live hundreds, if not thousands of years.
Because of this Abi has lived since around 540 AD (our comparative calendar) on through the centuries). She's a force of good, but is also a soldier.
Not that I actually write sex scenes or dating scenes, but she is a lesbian. Why you ask? Because I role played her and I like women. I only mention it because she might be the knight in shining armor who rescues the girl at the end. This may or may not affect your vote. Her life time spans into the technological era (technology + magic)
* An anonymous first person problem solving based version. I don't know php so it would have a lot of pages. This can span into the technological and even space faring era.
* Crieal - a demonic wizard, who at first believed she could "rehabilitate" demons, and did manage to do that with several, before she was tricked by one of her succubi - turned into a demon so that her "succubus" could stay in the real world and Crieal was then banished for several hundred years before she escaped an evil demonic warlord. Also select this one if you want to follow one of the evil exploits of the Demonic Warlord who wound up capturing her after she was tricked. Her tale could easily be Rated-R. Her life time spans into the technological era (technology + magic)
* Eis - an Ice Mage who is relatively emotionless.
* Konekomimi - a Tiger Person. 9 Feet Tall. Same universe. Lives forever, but not undead. She literally cannot die. Her life time spans into the technological era (technology + magic)
* Meth'alan - a Robin Hood type Elf. He is basically a classic Tolkien style "Dark Elf" (Tolkien's Dark Elves lived in the woods, had dark hair, but were mostly caucasian, not to be confused with the AD&D dark elf, which has white hair, obsidian purple skin and lives in the ground). He's set around the same time as Panda.
* Muffet - a "gnome" who fights like a trouble maker. She's tnt in a condensed package. PG-13.
* Panda - we all know who he is :D The Choose your own Adventure story would chronicle his escape from the werewolf kingdom.
* Panda's Friends -- any one of Panda's friends, or adversaries are covered under this post. Please specify. This includes Queen Saphron, Procuni, Snow, Pleni, Suki and Butter. It would be a great way to introduce these characters to the reader of my comic.
* Puppy Rayn or Grown up Rayn (pronounced Rain). He's a "wolf mutt" that can cast spells. All the animals in this world have a chance to be magic using and thus use those to communicate with humans (hence familiars are really magical animal companions). This could be a kid oriented adventure or a more grown up adventure chronicling one of his great exploits. He lived before Panda's time.
* Swoethe - she's a Ranger type of person, organized a group to fight against the encroaching evil. She's a couple hundred years prior to Panda I believe.
* Sylphe - the teacher of the magical Puppy Rayn who grew up to be a powerful saving force in the world. Sylphe is a Desert Elf (she looks like the classic D&D black purple skin, white hair). She's a magic using enchantress. This one could be Oriented towards Kids, or be a more semi serious grown up one, whichever goes. She lived before Panda's time but may or may not still be alive at the time of panda as an older woman.
* Other - if none of these interest you I'll try to think of another option :D
edit: I had to combine several polling options to get under 10.

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008 / 11:42am - Page 5 is up! Hope you like it!

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008 / 11:21am - For some ungodly reason, 6 of of my 10 newly purchased Staedtler Pigment Liner 0.3 pens went dry. I contacted the company and am getting a replacement on my order. I have 4 pens left, but it looks like a bad batch. There's a very high liklihood that I will be incapable of finishing the ink job on today's comic. If I do manage to get this comic up and running today, I have great doubts as to getting the second one done on Saturday (unless at least ONE of these pens is good). The good news in all of this is I will have comics ready for Thanksgiving :D Originally I was going to go on a Thanksgiving Hiatus. So the only thing that might be changed is when the comics will be available.

Saturday, November 15th, 2008 / 8:27pm - Comic Updated! Sorry for lateness. My Wednesday-Thursday migraine held me back. BTW, here's a small poll - anyone think I should half delete the eyes in the top panel? Am I telegraphing it too much? Or is it just fine the way it is? btw, can't seem to fix Saphron's face. Normally I'd hold off on the update, but I was late as it is. we'll just have to suffer with this imperfection. srry :(

"My mind is a raging torrent flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives!" - Blazing Saddles.
When you see this quote it means I gots migraine. Comic may be later than Saturday while I clear the medicated cotton out of my skull.

Tuesday, 11th month - 11th day 2008 / 11am - The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, the cease fire that ended World War I. The cease fire which directly lead to the treaty that was damned by Japan, France, and Britain as they refused to sign Wilson's 14 point plan. A plan that would prevent imperialistic expansion. Because of this, the United States Congress revoked their signature from the treaty, rejected the League of Nations, and watched as the European and Pacific Nations directly lead us into the open bloodied arms of World War II. There's a reason why Americans have had a very distasteful view of European Conflicts. It's a shame we didn't learn the same lesson from our own conflicts (Philippines, Vietnam, Iraq II).
Thousands of men died for nothing in World War I specifically because of the mishandling by these governments. Millions more died because of the failure of these nations to recognize the folly of Imperialistic Expansion through Warfare Invasion. Nothing good can come from war, if there's no plan for peace to follow. Nothing. Any Nation who enters a plan for war without a plan for peace, will cost the world and its people more than they can possibly imagine.
War can only serve 1 possible purpose - Peace. Peace through extermination, or surrender. Either way you get peace. The trick is to make it a peace in which everyone can live.

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008 / 9:57am - Found and Fixed several code issues with I.E. I HATE INTERNET EXPLORER! It is so temperamental! I had two " in the wrong place, but instead of ignoring them like FireFox did, I.E. totally screws up the entire page. To top it off, it wouldn't accept coded resized images without throwing a fit on the page format. The images would be resized just fine, but the entire < table > format went all over the place, pretending that the images were enlarged instead of resizing to the current image size like it should've done. Well, it's all fixed now :D Also, updated page 3 image, Panda's left eyebrow was bugging me.

Monday, November 10th, 2008 / 9:45pm - Found out my new art pens won't arrive till the 12th. I decided to buy a supplemental pen. It doesn't work as well as the others, but it's good enough that you can't tell the difference! As I said on the message for the update, Panda's name was given to him by Suki, because he was "sweet" and "gentle" (for a ruthless assassin that kills vampires). The nick name stuck! I tell you this now, because it could only possibly come out in the sequel to PandaKing, and that's several years away at the rate I'm going. Yes, the bartender is a racist jerk (hence Panda's "threat")! Panda isn't oriental, but Suki and the majority of the rest of his adopted ninja family are. Panda is more of a far eastern European mutt.

Friday, November 7th, 2008 / 3:17pm - Just got notice from Project Wonderful that I cannot host their webcomic ads. They demand 30 strips. This comic won't update more than 1.5 strips per week. That means it'll take about 6 months before Project Wonderful will allow me to host other webcomic ads.
I cannot wait that long.
Because of this I've loaded up Google and Yahoo! ads. I'm also opening up manual pay ads. 10 cents per week for button ads! Anything else, please contact me: ninjanezumi * ninjanezumi.com - if you do want to help me out with that advertising, just shoot me an email and donation :D
As always, if you can't donate, please click a google ad (make sure you don't go to a virus site), or just spread the good word about my comic!
New update tomorrow, or Monday, depending on when I get my shipment of art pens! Meanwhile I'm working on the pencil work!

Thursday, November 6th, 2008 / (1am) - I just got signed up with a web voting ring! Support the comic by casting a few votes in my favor:

9:11am Supplemental - updated a preview of page 2 on TWC! Also, Elinee's neckline on the viewer's left bothered me, her neck was way too thin, though you may not have noticed. So, I fixed it :D
11:48am Supplemental - Got some Google ads up! I have very little control over their content, but I do need the advertising revenue in order to keep my comic free :D

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008 / Osamu Tezuka's Birthday! If only he were still alive, he'd be 80 years old today! I wish he could have seen Barack Obama elected President of the USA. No doubt he would counter the Asian Stock Market fears of Obama's Pro-Made in the USA stance by stating this is a massive step in equality. Those who don't know who Osamu Tezuka is, please read some Astro Boy (Mighty Atom), or visit http://www.tezukainenglish.com and ask around!
In comic news, got page 2 up tonight! Sorry it took so long. I'm also sorry about Elinee's head in the final panel at the bottom. I originally planned a bit more, even an action scene, but my fancy pen ran out of ink! Good news is I ordered a whole box at wholesale cost as a business expense (legitimate of course), but I don't know if it'll be here for me to get a comic done by Friday. Hopefully, I'll get one done on Saturday, won't know until then! For someone who spent 4 days creating my website, as well as trying to get all my advertising and what not done, I think I did pretty well!
Also, linking up my site with my favorite comic store, Atlantis Comics, here in Lakewood, Colorado. He's a good guy, so treat him nice! His banner may not be on every comic page, but it will definitely be on the most important front page and the gallery page (that is where I have my links, isn't it? Now I gotta double check), as well as the "Store Page".

Just keep in mind, as with all ads on my site, I have no control what so ever over Atlantis Comics or any of your orders through them. Make sure you contact Atlantis Comics directly if you have any questions concerning Atlantis Comics. But, I love the place myself!

Finally, I have created a subdomain: http://pandaking.ninjanezumi.com to make it easier for people who want to link to the site. It auto redirects to the main page :)

Don't forget, PandaKing WebManga has a forum (that's, as of yet, bereft of design)! Have fun!

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008 / ELECTION DAY! I voted absentee here on Colorado, so my vote would be counted. I signed up with the webvertising service, let's see if they'll let me put their advertisements on my website.
If you want to link to PandaKing (tm) webmanga, then please head over to the gallery and check out one of the 5 banners and linky graphics I made! Please download the one right one for you! Just make sure you check back to this site once in a while, to make sure I don't relocate the files!
If you're wondering, I think I've pretty much finished updating my website (outside of waiting for those people to give me publishing rights so I can make advertising monies), so that means I can start inking another page! I might just get it up in time for Wednesday! --- slight edit --- looks like my update won't be until Friday or so. Which isn't so bad. My art pens ran out of ink, so I ordered a new box (I love being able to buy wholesale office supplies - makes my LLC worthwhile). In the mean time I'll just do some extra pencil work :D

Monday, November 3rd, 2008 / ( Where I live it's still Monday ;D ) - I just finished updating my PayPal account, and have completed my Support Button (which you can find here or in the store), I have a little tracker that provides public information on reader traffic for the mainsite (it looks like a little purple planet), and by tomorrow morning I should be signed up with at least one web-vertising service!
As you may or may not know, webcomics/webmanga work in much the same way Public and National broadcasting works - we provide a free service in exchange for advertisement revenue, and optional reader support. If you can support a webcomic/webmanga, please do so. But be aware, PayPal takes a minimum of 31 cents for each transaction (according to this sheet I downloaded), so if you do make a donation to anyone (including me), please donate more than 50 cents. Thank you!

Monday, November 3rd, 2008 / PandaKing hit the web on October 31st and November 1st, 2008. The store came online last night, Sunday, November 2nd, 2008 (though it currently has no items in it). Today's work has primarily consisted of putting up this website.

Please remember this disclaimer:

All events and people contained within the PandaKing webmanga are entirely fictional. Any resemblance to past events, or people living or dead is pure coincidence.
